Nov. 3, 2026
I voted October 2, 2026. October 1, I wrote “I plan to be ‘radio silent’ politically until after the election Nov. 3“. Here I am, late afternoon Nov. 3. The polls are closing on the east coast, and the rest of the night will be reports.
My main contribution to the post-election conversation is U.S. Election Data 2016, 2020, 2024: Election of U.S. President 2016-2024. Two pages worth keeping about voting by we Americans in the last 10 years. Also worth at least a quick look: Census reports on 2018 election, and a 2021 Analysis of voting.
We collectively choose who governs us. There is no escape from our shared responsibility.
We’re all single ciphers among the hundreds of millions who are eligible voters, including those who don’t vote at all. We each have equal power: the vote. What can I learn from the last 10 years, including tonight. What can I do to keep our 250 year democracy?
I’ll muse about what this past month and the ten years preceding it mean to me in a following post, probably in the next week. I solicit your thoughts as well.
